Friday Photos

"The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature."
-Anne Frank

These lovely photos are of the Oregon coast, compliments of Yolanda, from whom I've borrowed with permission. I've been pining to be near the sea lately, and with work and the have-tos, this might be the closest I'll get for a while. One of the things I do enjoy is to walk along the shore in the winter....hmmm, maybe a day's get-away is a must in the making here! Not to beautiful Oregon, but at least out to Ventura Beach. :)

gorgeous pictues, and i agree with poor anne frank, who didn't see the outside for years.

we are planning a trip up north for may. may! that's months away! but the idea sustains me anyway.

HGF - I like the Anne Frank quotation - it's so true for me, and I really 'get' your thoughts about the coast. Last week when we visited my parents we went down to the shore and it was a real tonic. I must post some of the photos.

Although Perth is a lovely place to live, I do miss being close to the sea.

Yup, these images are lovely. I saw these at Yolanda's and thought how different ocean views can be. When I walk at the beach I see no lighthouse, but there's a pier and on a clear day I can see Catalina.

So ... how close to Ventura Beach are you? Wonderful quote as always!
Hugs and blessings,

The sea has a power and magic all of it's own - so nicley captured in the pictures here. Like ER, my wife, grew up near the sea and thinks that the only negative thing about Perth is its absence!

if not by the sea, then in the mountains....best case scenario is where the mountains/foothills meet the sea...hmmm, suggestions for relocation, anyone??!! We're looking forward (to plan) to where we want to go post his retirement. :D

Laurie,
I thought you already 'lived up north'??!! ;) or, are you going to the great white north (Canada)?

ER, HM,
I believe the best church is God's creation, not four walls men built, so to speak (Although, I do love the architecture of the old churches/cathedrals over your way).
There is something about the sea that is stirring to my soul, hard to explain.

Storyteller,
It's not quite a 2hour drive, and the traffic isn't too bad usually, if you avoid commuter hours. Yolanda did a great job with the photos, I thought. I was happy when she said she didn't mind my using them.

Working in my garden is so therapeutic for me with only the sounds of the birds and insects close by. I don't notice time, I analyse my worries, my wee aches and pains don't seem so bad (until I finish), concerns or happy thoughts for family friends are gone through, finance is worked out; it's all so pleasant. How ironic Anne Frank's observation became!
