I spent so many years being told that there was someone worse off than you, I never found it to be very helpful. :) It's not that you don't know that to be a fact but it just wasn't something that you got a warm cosy glow about. So you whine if you want to but the adage should be that there's always someone who will whine louder. :D Hope you're feeling a bit better. Don't let the Insurance %$*@$#~* (people) grind you down. ;)
Glad we collided over a Bock, Girl Friday. I'll be back when more time allows, because this looks like somebody else's very intriguing box of trinkets. Just clicked on this one randomely. Harry Dean Stanton seems only to ever end up in interesting things. If you don't have it bookmarked already, his Cancion Mixteca with Ry Cooder from Paris, Texas is sublime. It's also the only Spanish I know. Had to learn it! A little further south than bluegrass perhaps, but I don't really care as long as sth's real.Nice talking to you. Hope to read more soon. N
The song is beautiful! I couldn't understand all the spanish, so I googled the lyrics. They are beautiful, but so sad!
Here's a copy:
Que lejos estoy del suelo donde he nacido! inmensa nostalgia invade mi pensamiento; y al ver me tan solo y triste qual hoja al viento, quisiera llorar, quisiera morir de sentimiento.
Oh tierra del sol!, suspiro por verte ahora que lejos yo vivo sin luz, sin amor; y al verme tan solo y triste cual hoja al viento, quisiera llorar, quisiera morir de sentimiento.
a reasonable translation available by request for me other blogger pals! (I don't claim to be fluent!) :) (but babel-fish doesn't get it quite right)
I'm old enough to know better, and young enough not to care! 20th wedding anniv. around the corner, three kids and a gaggle of animals to keep me busy. Life's good!

TB is being really good about fielding most of the insurance bs.
I know you speak from experience, Peajay. Thanks for your kind words. :))
