Reflections by a mountain stream

My son is reading "Treasure Island" for school so I thought I'd include a RLS quote:

"Marriage is like life in this - that it is a field of battle, and not a bed of roses."

wait, not that one... ;) .....how 'bout this:

"Every heart that has beat strong and cheerfully has left a hopeful impulse behind it in the world, and bettered the tradition of mankind."

Hopefully you won't tire of my Sierra Nevada
photos taken last May near our friends' place http://www.cardinalvillageresort.com/
It's a wonderful place to go hiking, fishing, and general meandering with a touch of history as well (Bodie ghost town is 'up round the corner'! :)
As I had a nice evening with the kiddies tonite watching the Pixar film, Ratatouille, which was witty and fun, and with a nice message... I find myself sitting here wondering what to talk about. I've been enjoying reading several blogs, including the readers here, and only wish there were more time in the day to absorp it all!! Especially for the visitors here, I absolutely love some of your topics on your blogs, the sharing, the humour, the similarities, the differences of ya'll....it's been a lot of fun meandering, as it were, amongst all of the different places!! So this will be my post tonite...a thanks to all of you for your creativity, gift of words, and willingness to share your thoughts!! :)
Slainte!! (cheers/health)

Love the RLS quotation (the second one!)

It amazing how this blogging thing connects a (fairly) random group of people from across this blue planet in a way that allows sharing of a wide variety of experiences and moods. Good fun - and it certainly helps me to reflect a bit more on the things that are happening around me.

Thanks for your contributions.

Hello Catamari,
thanks for commenting!!
I like your blog, although I don't play/watch tennis much :) Alexandra Paintress was nice with the photos of the paintings!
I thought the book, 'The Secret'was interesting...I think one can accomplish much, if one stays positive. I believe there is something to the law of attraction with positive producing positive.

Hi ER,
ha, ha, thanks for clarifying 'the second quote'!! :))
thanks for commenting; this is good fun, and I agree with you about the reflection! :)

I'll never tire of Sierra Nevada photos ... they're lovely. Bring 'em on! Even though I love the beach, those mountain streams and trees tug at my heart strings and bring back mem'ries of delightful vacations in the Sierras.

Spending time with the kiddies is always a good choice :)

As for more time for bloggers and sharing ... I suspect there's never enough. This is positively addictive!
Hugs and blessings,

good, as we go the the Sierras as often as time permits!! :))

blogging as been a wonderful avenue of reading a variety of info and opinions, and meeting some very interesting and diverse people...I really enjoy it, and yes, it's addicting!!

Hopefully, between sharing something funny and the occasional rant, people will find this place intersting, and want to say hello!! :)

thanks for commenting!!

Loved the RLS quote. John proposed to me on the island of Erraid where RLS based his novel Kidnapped. There is even a Balfours Bay. Erraid is a tidal island off the south coast of Mull, about 3 miles from us and we enjoy some lovely walks on it.

The Stevenson family built many of the lighthouses around these coasts and used the granite rock from Erraid - the keepers cottages still exist and are used by the Findhorn Community - a spiritual community.

Haven't read 'The Secret' yet but came across it only the other day. I put a link on my blog to a site about the positive Laws of Attraction on Thursday.

How spooky is that! The Celestine Prophecy promotes the theory of coincidences and hidden meanings.

Must read the book.

I've not heard of the The Celestine Prophecy, but I'll look it up. btw, an additional coincidence.... our sons both breaking their arms on the same day...I went to your blog to tell you of my saga, and there your post was?!! :/ :)
