This song struck my interest, one because I like Capercaille, and two, because I'm interested in the history/culture of the Celtic/Norse heritage of Scotland and Ireland. I was just reading in the Scotsman newspaper that the WeeFrees (Protestant Church) are discontinuing their Gaelic services. I find this sad, as more should be done, I think, to continue the language and preserve the heritage. Just my twa pence...I also feel the same with regard to preserving the heritage/language of the Native Americans.

Well, I knew you had that Celtic spirit quite near the surface, I could see it in your writing!! :)
(weren't the Calvinists responsible for the push to educate the common Scottish man/woman, with the idea of everyone reading the bible, not just the clergy reciting, thus setting the groundwork for the Scottish enlightenment?? See, there's some good to the dour Calvinist?! ;D)
