Hi - I finally made it here to check the official meaning. I looked it up in Google and it said, "Live long and prosper" … so I wondered who was related to Spock, the Vulcan from Star Trek. I see their definition was close, but missed the mark a bit. May 2008 bring peace, joy and wonder!
Hugs and blessings,

When I read the comment from dogwithnobrain I remembered that there's a shop in Tyndrum, Scotland called the Green Welly Stop and really is a great place to stop. Nothing to do with me but you might just want to visit... ... ... http://www.thegreenwellystop.co.uk/

All these "Lang May Yer Lum Reek" New Year Greetings are so 'warming' and I just want to say that a lot of us Scots don't have lums anymore, but we still treasure the saying. xx

RE: "Lang may yer lum reek!"

Oh thank goodness! I thought it was a Scottish saying that mean't: "Long may your bum reek!"

Ah, good to clear that up then! Wishes like that would be rather counterproductive to long friendships and invitations to tea. ;)
