"The length of our lives is not at our command..."

August 26, 2008 while driving home from work, I had 3 seconds to try and avoid the headlights that were coming up over the hill at a combined speed of 110mph. The impact threw the heavy duty 4x4 truck up in the air. I was told that I'm in the 1% that lives (and) walks away. Another year to reflect; and again, I am thankful for my friends and family, and to all of you good people who have crossed my path since then. The pic is titled: "Riding with Angels" ... Romans 8:28 comes to mind "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose".

A favourite quote: "The length of our lives is not at our command, however much the manner of them may be. If our Creator enable us to act the part of honour, and to conduct ourselves with spirit, probity, and humanity, the change to another world whether now or fifty years hence, will not be for the worse."

(Ironically, this man died while fighting some of my American ancestors at the Battle of Kings Mountain, 1780).
