What makes you come alive?

"Don't ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive."
- Howard Thur

We're often so busy with the "have - to" and other responsibilities that adult life brings, that we forget sometimes to take a moment to remind ourselves of the why. Then there's all the added on things that people try to put on us with the "shoulds" and the "oughts", and a touch of guilt thrown in for good measure....
I wonder, how do you balance the getting back to who we are and what we love and shed the have tos, shoulds and oughts, not to mention the guilt, yet staying "responsible" with our commitments?

Out on the golf course thrashing a stupid wee ball and laughing with pals is a start. Remembering that golf here in Scotland is the game of the common people, not the posh pomposity that it sadly is in many other lands. Oh, and a cuddle with my lady wife is quite nice too (for me, at least). Probably shouldn't have put that second though :)

A time for reflection is always necessary.

Andrew,
haha, thanks for the golf 'vision' of thrashing and mashing...or was that thrashing and laughing...Don't worry, my hubby often slips up with the order of things as well... ;)

James,
so true; makes us the better for it, me thinks :)
