Just a coincidence?
God does work in mysterious ways. We called our friends (Rommel's breeders) and told them of his passing. We said that we would love to have another dog/puppy in time, and in consideration of our other Mastiff who was quite sad and obviously missing him. They asked if we would consider taking Rommel's 14th month old cousin having just been recently returned by his owner who ended up not being able to manage such a large dog. We went over and met 'Bert', who is absolutely adorable and a bucketful of energy. He minds well on the leash, and with some bonding, will be well minding off of the leash. Since coming to our home, he's made friends with our other Mastiff. The only thing left is making friends with the goat who he chased all around our property after being 'introduced'...guess the goat didn't want to 'play'! (yes, the goat is fine) :)
Thank you all for your kind words regarding the loss of Rommel. Though Bert will never replace Rommel, he is quite a welcome addition to our menagerie!
(Bert is on the left, and our Kitty is on the right....it turns heads of our visitors when we call out....'here kitty, kitty, kitty'...and up runs this 160lb (11-12 stone) dog! :D)

Bert and Kitty look fabulous. I know that no dog is a replacement for another but congratulations on your new family member.
Great news. May you have many happy years with the new pooch.
Thanks Peajay and Lins!
ps. It would seem that the photo revealed the need to tend to spring cleaning! ;D
Wow ... that's wonderful for all concerned! I'm sure Kitty's (great name for her) happy to have company and Bert thrilled to have a 'family' who will love him. I'm sure you and TB will miss Rommel, but what a lovely way to respond to your loss ;--)
Hugs and blessings,
Well... hot diggidy 'dog'! Congratulations! Sounds like you have many happy days ahead.
Sorry to hear about your dog :-(
Looks like a lovely new one you have there a nice big boy I'm sure he will bring you lots of joy :-)
Hi MrsS and SW,
Ta! :)
You have two great dogs there and it was lucky for Bert that he got a more suitable home.
I can't wait until I'll be able to have a dog again (my landlord says a definite no at the moment).
Hi there, sorry, don't know why it's taken me so long to come visit - nothing occurs to me these days!
Great pups, I love the here kitty, kity story!
Your home and life sound lovely!

Hi Honey,
It was with mixed emotion that we took him, obviously still missing Rommel, but with time I think Bert will bond up nice; Mastiffs are like that. Hopefully you'll get the lack of dog and computer sorted soon! ;)
Hi Jothemama,
Welcome!
Well, I can't complain, but it hasn't been a complete bed o' roses...there's been 'blood, sweat, and tears' involved, too! ;)
